Two weeks into recovery – feeling grateful

I am finally past the long road of fundraising, and past the experience of surgery itself. The first week was exhausting and difficult to get through. This week my energy is starting to come back and I am no longer in much pain! I am feeling extremely grateful toward each individual who reach out to me to help guide me forward in this path. I’m feeling nothing but optimistic for the future. Now all I must to is be patient and treat my body with care while I work up to being able to be active again. In a few weeks I will be back practicing yoga and lifting weights, and I cannot wait until the day I can swim again! A MASSIVE thank you again to all who have helped me out. This process has been a practice not only in patience and trusting my own process, but also how to accept and be at peace.

Thank you

KJ

A MONTH AWAY

Surgery is a month away and I can’t believe it’s real. I am overwhelmed with the support I’ve received for it – thank you everyone, truly.

I called and paid off the actual surgery.

I am $500 away from paying off the hospital bills.

THANK YOU for allowing this to happen. It feels like another chance for me.

AND on top of that, in 5 days I will be able to FINALLY petition to change my name at the court. I have been actively working towards this since February, but North Carolina makes it quite a freaking long process.

Big changes coming right up.

I HAVE A SURGERY DATE!

This is incredible! Thank you everyone so far for the ridiculous amount of support. I can not thank you enough. I have talked to the doctor who will be doing my surgery, and i am OFFICIALLY scheduled for this to happen on JUNE 17th!

I felt comfortable during my phone consultation with him, and was so impressed by his staff over the phone. I feel as though I’ve made a great choice in doctors.

$6,470 out of $10,000 have been raised!! I can call and pay for the actual procedure any time now! I almost have enough to pay for the hospital bills as well. I’m so thankful for your help.

Thank you.

I went to jail this week…

…to get fingerprints to send for my state and federal background checks. Do you know what this means? This is the first step in changing my name legally. Now I wait for 8-10 weeks!

I have researched many surgeons for top surgery, and have finally chosen the one that I want to go with – another big step out of the way.

I am working on the finishing touches to some classy, recycled, hand-made ties that I will be selling to raise funds. Stay tuned for that coming up!

I am just about finishing up this website to share with others!

Thanks!
